Girl's Day

So I was going to do some special post for my 200th post and I just couldn't ever think of anything exciting or fun so... screw it. I'll get around to a super special post one day but for today I'm blogging about something that actually happened TODAY! that never happens so enjoy.
So once a month, a bunch of us from high school try to get together. This never actually happens once a month, but we usually manage a few get-to-gethers a year.
This month, we met at Applebees at the Gateway. We ate yummy food and then wandered outside in the freezing cold. Ok not completely freezing cold, but close enough. We went to Barnes and Noble and then walked around Gateway taking pictures and laughing A LOT! It was tons of fun and we SOOO need to do it more!!
Here are a few of our pictures (don't kill me girls!)

Catch up

So I havent blogged in like a month, and it's not because nothing has happened but mostly because I've been to busy with my NEW JOB! And lets be honest, I'm lazy.
So to play catch up...
-I started my job January 31st, it totally kicks A$$.
- February 4th... came home from awesome new job to see Kelcy's awful self inflicted hair cut. She just had school pics taken today so if you're all dying to see it i'll post it soon.
- Jujube had an ADORABLE baby boy on Feb 8th, I totally called it. Jaci and I were talking the night of the 7th and I said I bet jules goes into labor tonight, cause of the snow" and she did. i rock at predicting babies.
-my NEW CAMERA (remember my goal list?)Arrived.. It's amazing and I love it and it was so worth every penny!

-Tracy had class on valentines day so we postponed it til the 19th and what did we do?

That's right! The BALLET! I LOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVEEEE the ballet! It's sooo beautiful and it was Sleeping Beauty which I was DYING to see. I never in a million years thought Tracy would have the idea to take me to the ballet.

You have now been caught up. :)
Tune in next time for a special 200th post...post. anyways. Time to watch wipeout.

Thankful

So I remembered last night at almost 1:00 AM that I hadn't checked the mail for a few days. So I put on my boots and coat and walked out to the mailbox. It occurred to me, as I was walking through my complex in the middle of the night, how thankful I am to live in a neighborhood safe enough for me to do this.
I've lived in a lot of cities. My mom couldn't keep an apartment to save her life. We moved every year without fail, if not sooner. I can't tell you how many times I came home from school to see the bright yellow eviction notice on the door. Trust me, it's not fun. And being just a kid there wasn't a thing I could do about it either. I didn't understand at the time that my mom was just NOT CAPABLE of being an adult. She didn't care about anything or anyone but herself, even now at almost 53, she is still this way. But I digress...
The point is, I've lived in a lot of places, there have been places where I was scared to walk alone, EVER, let alone in the middle of the night. This is the only city that I've ever felt at home in, safe in. That's why it's the only city I'll buy a house in. I want my kids to have that same safe feeling every day. I never want them to step outside and have the urge to run back inside cause its safer.
I'm not saying this city is perfect, because I know it has its faults just like every city, but I love it here. Lucky for me, Tracy agrees! :)

2011 Top 5 List

To steal a term from the boob nazi... these are the guys that I'd totally give up my morals for this year. (Not really, but it makes me sound naughtier than I'll ever be. Seriously. I'm good, I swear!)
#5- Joseph Gordon-Levitt

While he'll always hold a special place as the long haired alien in Third rock from the sun, he's also totally adorable. I loved him in 10 things I hate about you and in Inception he proved he's all grown up now. I love it!
#4- Jared Padalecki

He's a recent addition to my list. I never really "got" what girls saw in him until I caught an episode of Supernatural one morning. I've watched the show since it started but missed all of season 4. Anyways there was this one episode and it just clicked! He's totally hot!
#3- Ashton Kutcher

I started watching that 70's show reruns and I forgot how funny that show was! He's totally hilarious as the dim-witted Kelso (ironically what one of my friends calls me) and I caught a few movies that he's been in and voila he's back on the list!
#2- Jensen Ackles

I heart him. His face, his deep voice, the "smoulder" I love it.
#1- James Lafferty

He's totally one of those guys that is just getting hotter as he gets older. I know that part of my "crush" on him is the character he plays. I'm a sucker for a good husband and father. ;)
But, alas, not only am I totally married (cause thats the only reason we could never happen HAHAHA. Sarcasm people. It's a unappreciated art form.) he's currently dating Bono's daughter. Who can compete with Bono's daughter?? Bono's other daughter maybe?

Anyways. There you have it. The 5 actors who I'm crushing on this year. Honorable mentions go to Daniel Radcliffe (but only when he's playing Harry Potter) Rupert Grint (I love gingers), Ryan Reynolds (newly single!!) and Ian Somerhalder (mmm vampires are yummy)

2011 wish list

1- to become DEBT FREE. This is something we've been working on for a few years now and we are SOOOO CLOSE. If I get a job sooner rather than later it can definitely happen this year.

2- NOOOO this is not an announcement for me. But My favorite aunt, as well as one of my really good friends are pregnant and expecting in 2011. I wish for their babies to be happy and healthy and delightful. Especially my poor aunt who is pregnant with twin boys!( She's 41, 42 when she delivers and these are her first kiddos)

3- To lose weight! My weight has been fluctuating like mad this year and it's really bothering me. Tracys going on a hardcore diet in January so I'm hoping it helps me too.

4- To get my craft on. I got a sewing machine and a cricut this past month. I'm going to put those bad boys to work and make stuff! I dont know what yet but you can be sure I'll blog about it.

5-ADVENTURE- It doesnt have to be as awesome as Bill and Ted's but I want to do something fun this year.

6-The crafty will also get helped out when I save up enough money for this! I so love this camera and can't wait to see the awesome pictures I will take with it.

7- Friends- I want them all to be happy and get what they wish for too. I also want them to know I love them and am here for them no matter what.

8-Honesty. Sometimes I feel like I can be too honest with some people, but with other people I'm constantly blunting how I feel. I'm going to work on finding a happy medium. I also want everyone to be honest with me. I hate being lied to. HATE IT. I think its one of the worst betrayals. I'd rather you tell me the truth then lie to me and have me find out later. Especially if you are just lying to "spare my feelings" or whatever. Just spit it out. In the end I'll respect you for your honesty and we'll get along better anyways.

9- I dont know if I truly believe in this one anymore but I wish for it anyways. I wish it for all of you as well. This is not to say that I don't believe in happiness. I just dont know that the complete utter contentedness where everything is blissful exists. Happiness is fleeting and it is what you make of it. I do believe how you react to things impacts your feelings about them and with how emotional I always am, maybe its just me who struggles with happiness. I'm going to work on that in 2011

p.s.... does anyone else feel like this year passed REALLY quickly???

Christmas!

Christmas is too exhausting for words. Naturally the batteries in my camera died on Christmas eve so Christmas morning I had to use my cell phone for all the present opening. I can't tell you how bugged that made me. Who forgets batteries at Christmas?? Oh yeah that would be me.

Maddies Dolphin Pillow Pet. She named him Aqua

Kelcys Unicorn Pillow Pet, She named her rainbow

The finished temple pic. I thought my Grandpa was going to cry. It was totally awesome.

Maddies Santa Presents

Kelcys Santa Presents- Her lalaloopsy is already MIA. We've called everywhere we went and searched the car. She might be gone forever. So awesome that I went to 6 stores to find her only to have her lost within 6 hours of opening.

My present. Cant wait til it works great! It keeps acting like it cant pull the thread and I think the needle threader is broken already so it might have to be exchanged or something. We shall see!
I hope you all had a great Christmas too!!

Christmas Eve

So this year, I had to bring a dessert to the Hieb Mansion for our annual Christmas party. Now normally, I'm not very adventurous and would have bought cookies or something. Not that I can't cook, just most of the time I choose not too because I hate how long everything takes. I'm all about instant gratification. However this year, I saw a recipe online and I couldnt stop thinking about it, so... I made it.
and it was AMAZING!!! It might have to be the new "Christmas dessert"

Recipe can be found here
