Bonus Birthday Post

**The following post contains stick figure porn. If this offends you please don't read!!!

Today was my birthday. The big 28! I feel very old some days. But I have been incredibly happy over the past few weeks so I will absolutely not complain! 2010 is going to rock.
Highlights of the day include:
-Finding my desk decorated
-Shellie surprising me with princess balloons and an Indiana Jones cake! (birthday cake is my favorite!!!)
-Jaci taking me for a coke break and me oh so gracefully tripping over my heels and falling into her car
-Tracy surprising me by making a cake AND cleaning up the girls huge mess from this morning!
-My Grandparents stopping by
-While at dinner, asking Maddie if she was done eating and having her open her mouth to show me the delightfully half chewed french fry.
-running into Alesha at Smith's marketplace
-Tracy's small pornographic drawing on my birthday cake, it made me laugh. Kelcy called it birthday Kellee. Please realize that she did not understand what it was!!! It even took me several minutes to figure it out, because i'm slow, we aren't seriously perverts.
-Me finding a picture of Tracy where he is flipping off the camera and Kelcy seeing it and lecturing Tracy about how that's the bad finger and he can't ever do it again, which made me laugh like a loon
-All of the facebook birthday wishes! Thanks!!!
-Tracy gave me GLEE volume one!!!! HOORAY!! and (this ones for you jaci) Volume 5 and 6 of the Vampire Diaries!

My desk at work

The crazy balloon hat that my boss wanted me to wear all day! hahaha

My girls being cheese heads while Tracy was lighting the candles

Blowing them out

POSERS!!

The porn cake. It made me laugh a lot when i figured it out. and dont worry. we cut that part up first!

SO HAPPY! Love you Tracy!

Option 3

So I see all kinds of blog posts about mom's who when they discover their childs room a mess, laugh and take a picture of it and share precious stories of how great their kids are. My question is... how do I become THAT kind of a mom? Because seriously, when I walk into my girl's room first thing in the morning, and I discover 4 boxes of macaroni and cheese (unfortunately the special spongebob and scooby doo macaroni that is WAY more expensive than regular macaroni), 3 compleats meals, and blankets concealing a whole seperate mess all over the floor... I YELL! And trust me I yelled A LOT. By the time I was finished both of my girls were crying and saying they were sorry. The thing is... this is NOT the first time they have done this. Because they share a room, if one of them wakes up they wake the other one up and they have little parties in the middle of the night. Usually they are loud enough it wakes me up and I am able to circumvent the mess, but not last night.
I obviously dont want to lock them in their room because they need to get out to potty and you know if our house burns down or something, but at the same time I can't afford for them to continually RUIN food! I can't even tell you how many times this has happened. We even had a moratorium against cereal for several months because that was their midnight snack of choice.
Grr. Then AFTER the lovely mess/fight that made me late... I go outside to rush the girls to the sitters and hop in my car and find this!!!
NATURES MESS! SERIOUSLY???

UPDATE****
I came home to this:

Ah springtime in Utah. Gotta love it.

Read it.... NOW

Thank you Erin Housley for insisting I pick up this book. I ordered it, and its sequel Catching Fire, from Amazon (ssshhhhh!!!!!) on her recommendation alone. I hadn't heard anything about the books, didn't know what they were about or anything. Luckily I am a huge reader and didn't hesitate to buy a new book.
I read the intro to the story and was intrigued but not dying to pick it up, so I finished the other book I was reading and then on Monday picked up The Hunger Games while I was waiting for dinner to bake. I was immediately sucked in and finished it last night and then started Catching Fire last night while dinner was baking. I finished that one today at work and I have to say I can not WAIT for August when the third and final book in the trilogy comes out~

While I'm on the subject of books, which I obviously love, I just want to say that I NEVER EVER EVER want a Kindle. EVER. They are brilliant inventions, I'm not denying that, but there is something so personal about a book! Does everyone remember this scene in Beauty and the Beast?

How much more dramatic would that scene be if he told her to open her eyes and all she saw was a bunch of empty shelves and a kindle? Yeah thats right. It would SUCK.

Maybe I'm being a little unreasonable here, but seriously. You want me to pay HOW MUCh for a book that I cant make notes in? That I cant mark up pages or dog ear corners? And what happens if I drop it in the bathtub huh? Goodbye money. What happens if I leave it in the car? Oh stolen. Yes I know its portable and yes I know you can take it anywhere. Two words... PAPER BACKS! Lightweight, portable and cheap!

I know its not like looking at a screen, its like ink and you can actually turn the page... guess what DON'T CARE! its not the same! Its cold and impersonal. My books have tons of history. I see the covers and I know exactly what the book is about, how many times I've read it, what chapters are dog eared for stopping, why the spine is bent and why one page is ripped. I know why the covers are missing from some, why whole sections have been glued back in. I know why I made notes in one, why I corrected sentences I think should be different in others.

I know which ones to read on rainy days, which ones to read before bed, which ones will make me cry. I know which ones I have lent to a friend, which ones a friend has lent me. I know which ones taught me lessons, which ones are just for fun, which ones make me laugh out loud.

My books, lame as this sounds, are my friends. They are always there. The library in Beauty and the Beast? That's my dream! Its ALWAYS been my dream. I've always wanted a room with shelves and shelves and shelves of book, comfy chairs, big windows a fire place. Maybe even a window seat.

Sorry Kindle lovers...Nothing will ever beat a REAL book in my eyes.

Things I LOVE 4

*My post below contains serious run on sentences and bad spelling/grammar. Please keep in mind that I tend to blog at work in between everything else I do and I have to type quickly and secretly. LOL Ignore everything bad!

My new amazing Reebok Easy Tone shoes!!! When I first heard about these shoes months ago I immediately wanted them, their pricetag however, was a huge deterrent!! So lucky for me with Taxes and bonuses I was able to buy a pair! I checked some local stores only to find out they had absolutely none in stock until about May! Reebok.com was saying it was 5-6 weeks behind on shipments but I figured I could wait 5-6 weeks til May and maybe not get the ones I wanted or just order them off the site and get the exact ones that I wanted. Lucky for me Reebok is a big fat liar and my shoes shipped about 4 DAYS after I ordered them!!
I LOVE these shoes already! They work your calves, your hamstings/thighs and your butt more than you would wearing normal shoes but they are still cute to look at. I put them on and could immediately feel a difference in my hamstrings. I dont know how exactly they work but after I wore them for a whole day I could definitely feel a difference! Not like a full on ache like I worked out too hard, but a nice pleasant, I'm using these muscles kind of feel.

The box was totally cute!

EEE PINK!!

I love the random details on the shoes!

I'll give you another review in a few months! Its only been a few days of wearing them so I cant say for sure how they are doing just yet! ;)
