Quitting Time

Its official. I am not going back to my job. My maternity leave was supposed to end on Monday but due to circumstances right now I just "gave my notice" today. I thought that when this day came I'd be so excited but instead I feel somewhat sad. I've always wanted to be a stay at home mom and I've certainly enjoyed it the past 3 months, but all of my friends are moving on to that hugely successful part of their careers and even though I've reached my goal I cant help feeling just a little bit sad that I will never have job stories anymore. I suppose if I ever finish my book and get published that will definitely be a success but I feel like that is so far away. I just need to sit down and write more. I have the time now but the story seems trapped inside me and it wont come out the way I want it to. I guess we'll just have to see where it goes from here. On to lifes next great adventure! If anyone knows of any LEGIT work at home jobs I'd appreciate it! Just cause I'm a full time mom doesnt mean I cant make money too right?? :D

Thanksgiving and tree pics

So we got new ornaments for our tree this year, because while we were moving, Tracy had an unfortunate incident with the ornament box and we lost quite a few of our GORGEOUS blue and purple swirly ornaments. I decided that I wanted to buy these elegant black and white and silver ornaments I saw. We put up our tree the sunday after Thanksgiving and I think it's so lovely. It needs more lights but the rest of ours are in storage somewhere and I dont feel like digging them out and redecorating the tree so I'll just leave it how it is. What do you think??

Kelcy was so tired on Thanksgiving she fell asleep on the floor at my Grandmas house. And I think she took the picture of me and my sister Karrena is in the background.

This one is just because its sooo Cute!!

Game night

A little while ago we had our good friends Erin and Jordan come over and play games with us. We played Singstar on the PS2 and Tricky and just hung out and had lots of fun. I wish I could have gotten pictures of us playing Singstar but I forgot to grab the camera until we were all just lounging around a bit. They brought their dog, Regis Carlos and naturally Kelcy wouldnt let him go! Good thing he is a patient dog! Thanks for the fun night guys!!

Random Memory Wednesday

Turning 8

Once a month in Primary we would do birthdays. Our teacher would have the parents fill out cards then stand up in front of the class and say ok this person's favorite color is this and their favorite sport is this... etc etc and we would all have to guess who that person was, if we couldn't guess who it was that person would have to stand up and be like oh its me I'm blank years old and answer a few questions about why we liked our favorite color and stuff like that. I was so nervous because back then I was ridiculously shy and I didnt want people to turn and look at me. There were lots of March birthdays and when she started every one I would tense up and start to panic that the one she was reading was me, but then none of the answers were right. I was starting to think that my mom didnt fill out the little card because she only had one left and it wasn't me! My favorite color wasn't purple, my favorite sport wasn't basketball, yeah my favorite animal was a cat but everything else was wrong! I started looking around the room with everyone else trying to figure out who it was when my teacher said it was me. I stood up, shaking and panicky, while she asked me why I liked purple so much. I was so scared I couldnt even say that purple was my least favorite color. I think I muttered something about flowers that are purple. Then she asked me about basketball and again I made something up even though soccer was my favorite sport, and the only sport I played! I remember thinking, doesnt my mom know me at all?? The next day was my actual birthday and I got up and got ready for school and was so surprised that my mom had gotten up early and made me breakfast. Normally she was just dragging herself out of bed right around the time I got home from school claiming she had a headache. This is the one and only time I remember my mom making me breakfast before school. She gave me my birthday present, a stuffed elephant that I still have to this day. Man my childhood was depressing! no wonder I've blocked out lots of it!! :D

2 Month stats!

Madison had her 2 month checkup and immunizations today. She was very good at the doctors office. She weighs 11 pounds 5 ounces and is 22 1/4 inches long and that puts her in the 75th percentile. She is just doing "wonderfully well." Her head was in the 50th percentile. She is very proportioned and her head is very round. I have people stop me in stores and say what a lovely head shape she has and ask if it was a C-section or if it was a natural delivery. Then they are amazed that it was natural. What can I say, my girls have nice heads.
Madison had to get 4 shot and 1 set of drops today for immunizations. 2 shots in each little chubby leg. She didnt like those very much but they were over quickly and she was done crying about a minute later, but when she woke up from her nap I think she was in a bit of pain because I've never heard her scream like that. Jaci stopped on her way to her final luckily and got her to sleep, and she's been good ever since.
Kelcy was adorable in the doctors office too. Talking to the doctor about baby sister and asking for suckers and stickers. Our pediatrician is awesome so she gave Kelcy the special green sucker she asked for and even let her pick a sticker on the way out. All in all not to bad a day at the doctors!

I should be sleepin'

I should be sleepin'
'stead of keepin'
these late hours
I've been keepin'... Gotta love Emerson Drive. Madison has been a grumpy girl today. She would hardly nurse at all and at 430 AM I gave up and made her a bottle, she drank about an ounce and then just fussed. At 620 I finally got her to actually eat and then she was happy for about ten seconds. Now she's fussy again. Its ok except for the fact that I'm completely exhausted! Tracy is working overtime tomorrow so who knows if i'll get a nap or anything. Good thing I can function on not much sleep! I am excited to do some more shopping today, should be fun. I think i'm gonna hit old navy... :?)

Black Friday

First off, Thanksgiving was awesome! Great food and great people = Great day. Minor drama with the sis in law but its Thanksgiving and she seems to do something EVERY year on Thanksgiving and since it was minor I just shrugged it off this year. Makes me wonder if she's going to try to top it for Christmas but we'll cross that bridge later. We started at Tracy's parents house and then moved to my Grandmas where Kelcy decided she was sleepy and laid down on the floor in front of their window and fell asleep for about 40 minutes. It was so funny cause one minute she was playing and the next she was just out. Then we went back to the in-laws house for games on our WII and chocolate fondue. It was hilarious playing bowling with them in video game form, but I wouldnt be surprised if they bought a WII just because they had so much fun with it. We called it a night at about 10:30 and went home to get some rest for our big day of shopping!

Let me just start by saying I'm a HUGE fan of Day after Thanksgiving shopping. ALL OF IT, beginning with combing through the ads on Thanksgiving day to pick the best store to go to. Tracy and I have had a tradition since we started dating that we always go shopping on black friday. Now normally we dont buy much because we never seem to have money on this day, but for the past two years his Mom and Dad have surprised us with a substantial sum of money on Thanksgiving. Its our Christmas present but Maylene knows how much everyone in the family likes to go shopping on this day so she gives it to us early so we can get good deals. This year we decided that with our Christmas money we'd actually spend some of it on us, last year we just bought presents for everyone else to make sure they got taken care of first. This year we decided we wanted the LCD tv we missed out on last year. Target had a 19 inch LCD with built in DVD for $199 which is an awesome deal when you consider that they had a 17 inch one with built in DVD for $299 just regular price. Target opened at 6 AM so we decided we should be there around 4:30 - 5:00 AM just to make sure we have a chance at it. At 2:30 in the morning we decide that we cant sleep and we decide to go walk around South Towne mall that opened at Midnight. Madison had just woken up so we woke Kelcy up and dragged ourselves to the Mall. It was actually really fun! I found the cutest dresses for our family pictures we are going to have taken next month. Its really hard to find dresses for a newborn and an almost 3 year old that are the exact same, but I did it! We got drinks at Orange Julius and then bought them shoes to match their dresses. We also got Kelcy this adorable elephant that walks and moves its trunk. And naturally everything was on SALE!! We let Kelcy ride the carousel and then decided to head to Target. We'd scoped out the West Jordan Target on our way to the mall and decided it would be our best chance since there is only one entrance and not two like all the other stores. We got there at 4:30 and Tracy hopped out and got in line about 20 people back. I stayed in the car with the girls and kept them happy and entertained (and fed) I'd drive by and check on Tracy every half an hour and see if she wanted to trade places with me because it was cold! 28 degrees according to the West Jordan City Hall sign. He wanted hot chocolate so I went to 7-11 and grabbed two hot chocolates because when he said go get me a hot chocolate the girl sitting down next to him said me to just jokingly. I asked if anyone else wanted some which was stupid of me really because by now there was easily 100 people in line. Luckily everyone just laughed. At about 10 to 6 there was just a crush of cars pulling into the parking lot. The plan was for Tracy to run inside and grab the tv and I'd wait for the huge line of people going into the store to dissipate then meet him by the 1000 thread count sheets that I wanted that were also on sale. It took 7 minutes for the line to make its way inside the store! 7 minutes of non stop people just flooding into the building. Then I got the girls out of the car and went inside. There were NO shopping carts left so I had to hold onto Kelcy's hand and carry Madison in her carseat through the crazy maze of people. By the time I found Tracy in the Electronics department my arm was burning! But we got the TV and the sheets! An LCD Tv and 1000 thread count sheets, my bedroom is going to be awesome! We are trying to decide if we want to mount it on the wall or put it on top of the new dresser we are buying soon. We got home at about 6:45 am after having NOT slept at all and sadly my phone wouldn't stop ringing until almost 8 from all of Tracys family calling us and seeing what we got and if we found a Zune (we didn't but Tracy's parents did) or a camcorder (also a no) and what we got. And my sister texting me and asking me if I wanted to come to Kmart to get a TV (they had a 20 inch with a dvd built in for 200 and since she works there I could have gotten a discount on that.. Wish I'd known BEFORE Target!!) That means I didnt fall asleep until well after 8 am this morning!! But it was definitely worth it! I cant wait to get our tree up! I think that's going to be my tomorrow night project. Yeah... putting up the tree, listening to Forgotten carols and drinking hot chocolate.. Definitely a great night!

Quizzes

I was playing around and found some quizzes today so just decided to post them for fun! Enjoy!

Your Five Variable Love Profile

Propensity for Monogamy:

Your propensity for monogamy is high.
You find it easy to be devoted and loyal to one person.
And in return, you expect the same from who you love.
Any sign of straying, and you'll end things.

Experience Level:

Your experience level is medium.
You probably have had a couple significant loves.
And you may have even had your heart broken.
But you haven't really dated a wide variety of people.

Dominance:

Your dominance is low.
This doesn't mean you're a doormat, just balanced.
You know a relationship is not about getting your way.
And you love to give your sweetie a lot of freedom.

Cynicism:

Your cynicism is low.
You are an eternal optimist when it comes to love and romance.
No matter how many times you've been hurt - you're never bitter.
You believe in one true love, your perfect soulmate.
And if you haven't found true love yet, you know you will soon.

Independence:

Your independence is low.
This doesn't mean you're dependent in relationships..
It does mean that you don't have any problem sharing your life.
In your opinion, the best part of being in love is being together.

Your Kisses Are Medium-Hot

Your kisses are definitely sexy, but you're not about to make anyone gasp for air.
You take it slow and steady... and you ramp things up when you get the right signals.
Your kissing style is adaptable and adept. And people who kiss you love it!

That kind of sucks.. Who likes to hear they are a medium hot kisser???

Your Seduction Style: The Charmer

You're a master at intimate conversation and verbal enticement.

You seduce with words, by getting people to open up to you.

By establishing this deep connection quickly, people feel under your power.

And then you've got them exactly where you want them!

Your True Love's Name Is

Seth S.

Hmm.. I wonder if Tracy will change his name for me... HAHA

And FINALLY

You're a Romantic Kisser

For you, kissing is all about feeling the romance
You love to kiss under the stars or by the sea
The perfect kiss involves the perfect mood
It's pretty common for kisses to sweep you off your feet

Funny.. the first time I took this quiz I got expert kisser, but I think Romantic kisser is better.

Random Memory Wednesday

So since its the Holiday Season I decided my random memory for today (ok yesterday but madison is awake so what can you do right?) should be a Christmas one, more specifically a Santa memory. The Christmas when I was nine was an interesting one. My Great Aunt Iris was very sick so one night My Grandparents took me and my cousin Dayna over to visit and see how she was doing. It was only a week before Christmas and I remember it was very dark and very cold. When we pulled up in her driveway we could hear a helicopter. Now being that it was Christmas and my Grandparents wanted two nine year olds to behave while visiting a sick relative they told us that the helicopter was Santa checking up on us. Being the very mature nine year olds that we were, we naturally said we acted like we didnt believe them, when we were secretly bursting with joy that Santa, THE SANTA, was checking up on us! Of course we were on our best behavior as we stood there staring at that red helicopter. Who else but Santa would fly a red helicopter?? We must have stood there for a good five minutes watching that helicopter fly around and disappear behind bare tree branches. I never could figure out why we couldn't see it through the trees even though there were no leaves on the trees. We could see it on one side, and when it came out on the other, but we could never see it behind the trees. Naturally we assumed it was magic! Aunt Iris died that Christmas and I remember thinking that it was ok because Santa must have been checking up on her and knew that she was going to die so he did something special for her. That was the last Christmas my mom kept up the pretense of Santa. In fact on Christmas Eve when I accidentally busted them putting out presents, she didnt even pretend that Santa had just dropped them off. She actually asked me if she could return some because they needed money. I never did see what my daybed looked like, but I sure remember taking it back to RC Willey with them the next day. Ok thats actually two random memories.

P.S. Just for the record, I still believe in Santa. :D

Friends Forever

I have so many people in my life that I will always be grateful for! I know that I am incredibly lucky to have such great friends so here are some of the people that I love!
Best Friend Brittney

I have known this girl for 12 years and she is amazing!! She somehow convinced her parents to let me live with them after my mom kicked me out so I wouldnt just be out on the street. She's stood by me through all of my hard times and I'm so blessed to have her as a friend. She is dating an awesome man right now, and they are talking about getting married! I'm so excited for her!! She is an always will be my best friend and there aren't words to say how much I love her.

DirtyLove and Julia Goolia

Julia's also helped me in some rough spots. We worked together at a homebuilder and ironically got fired on the same day! Luckily her roommate Jaci(dirtylove) got her a job at a law firm where she worked and then Julia got me a job there too. Julia followed me home one day shortly after I found out I was pregnant with Madison just to make sure I got home ok because I was so sick. And Jaci and I were destined to meet somehow! We went to the same Elementary school, lived in the same neighborhood, worked at the same place (before the law firm), and like all of the same things. Its really kind of freaky how long it took us to meet! She even went to Forgotten Carols the same year that my high school choir was IN Forgotten Carols. So many coincidences! Both of these girls are great and I LOVE THEM!

Dooby

Dusty and I met in Middle School. We were in the same gym class with Brittney and Bethany and all got partnered up together to make up a dance to a song. It was hilarious and even had a pyramid at the end. We've had some good times together. Everytime I think about some of the times we've hung out I just sit and laugh to myself because she is hilarious.

Bethany

Bethany is part of the Gym class I just mentioned. She has overcome so much since then. She is one of those people that are truly non judgemental. I know that I can tell her anything and she'd never ever judge me for whatever it was I told her.

Tracy

I'm putting my husband on here last because he is definitely the most important person in the world to me. He's stood by me through everything and even puts up with his crazy in-laws and family drama on my side. He is funny and smart and even though he likes weird things like Dungeons and Dragons, which makes him a nerd, I love that he is a great father. Kelcy always screams when he comes home from work and runs up and hugs him and it makes me so happy to know that he loves his daughters. Right now he is hammering me to get off the lappy so he can check his email so I guess thats all about him! I love you honey, even though you are kicking me off the computer.

24.I get really bad, incapacitating headaches every once in a while, but I'm hesitant to call them migraines because

Six Weeks Old

Thats right! My baby is six weeks old. I cant believe it. She is getting sooo big! And she is an awesome sleeper! 7 hours on Friday night!! It sucks that she's ready to sleep through the night but my poor engorged boobs wake me up every 3 hours. That also means it sucks if I ask Tracy to get up with her in the night because then they just get more tender and swollen. Oh the joys of breastfeeding! Once they adjust to her sleeping in longer increments we'll be great! I finally managed to capture her smile on camera. Its soo cute because half the time she only smiles on one side, like little half smiles. Its adorable!

She also FINALLY likes bathtime!! The first few baths we gave her she pretty much just screamed but now she'll lay there contentedly and kick and wave her arms while making little cooing noises. So cute!

Kelcy is turning into quite the photographer. The pictures of Tracy and Madison in her swing were taken by her. She also loves to take pictures of her toys and the floor but for the most part she's pretty good! I got a few pictures of her playing on the playground with Tracy today before the battery went dead in the camera.

random memory wednesday

I'm borrowing this idea from another blog I read because I think its fun. The hard part is going to be deciding on what random memory to post! I think I'll start with Tracys first memory of me.

Tracy lived in the Fox Point neighborhood, which was adjacent to my Greenbriar neighborhood. My best friend Brittney lived just around the corner and down the street from me so we would often walk to church together. The church was in Fox Point and we would always walk right past Tracys house. We werent in the same ward but we were in the same building. Anyways Brittney had brought a book that I wanted to borrow from her. I cant remember the name of the book at the moment but it was yellow. Anyway.. After church we started to walk home, and for some reason I thought it would be better to walk with the book on my head rather than holding it like a normal person. I took off my shoes to have a smoother walk and we were on our way. I remember Brittney kept looking at me like I was insane but I thought it was hilarious that I was walking through this neighborhood with my scriptures in one hand, my shoes in the other and a book on my head. When we got to Tracy's house I remember he was outside playing basketball with his dad, he'd skipped church that day... SINNER!! And he had the ball and was ready to take a shot but when he saw us coming he just stood there and stared at us and started laughing. We smiled and waved and kept walking down to the end of the block when a gust of wind knocked the book off my head. I was so sad because I'd made it a little more than half way home with it not falling off and then the stupid wind kicked up and ruined my amazing feat of posture. Tracy always says thats his first memory of me, not meeting me through other friends or at school or anything but me being a dork walking past his house one day on my way home from church.

New Pictures

Well I promised pictures and I found the camera cord while trying to unpack and organize today so here they are! New pictures of Kelcy and Madison. Dont worry I only let Kelcy hold the pumpkin saw to take the picture and I only let Madison sleep on her tummy for the picture as well. I generally try not to endanger my kids to much. :D

Potty Training

HOORAY!! Kelcy took off her diaper today and came up to me and said she had to potty. Naturally she did it when I was in the middle of feeding Madison, so it took me a minute to detach her and make sure the bathroom door was open for Kelcy. She hopped up on the potty and half went. It was a tiny turd.. but at least it was in the potty and NOT on the kitchen floor! She was rewarded for her effort with candy and "special wipes". We are hoping that these incentives make her want to potty in the potty like a big girl. We also have phone calls from mickey, and minnie, and donald and goofy and pluto and sponge bob and all of her favorite characters saying how they want her to potty like a big girl. I bought her some big girl panties that have tinkerbell on them and told her she CAN'T potty on tinkerbell cause it will make her mad so we'll see how that goes. But progress is progress right??
