Heavy on the Pics

So we started the weekend with my friend Jaci coming to take some pictures of us in my in-laws GORGEOUS backyard. I've been trying to have family pictures taken unsuccessfully this summer. It seems like every time we try Kelcy or Madison has a fit and it doesnt happen. I figured if Jaci took them they'd cooperate but not so much. Kelcy was good for a few poses and then gave up. We are scheduled for professional pics on October 4th and I'm nervous about how they are going to turn out. Then Tracy and I had our temple prep class at 1:30 and after that I went to the relief society broadcast dinner at the stake center. Then today was church and Madisons "party" It was great fun and I'm pleased with how her cake turned out! It was adorable! Very Madison. It was also Tracy's moms birthday so we did a joint party and had cake and ice cream and presents. Awesome fun. And now... For your viewing pleasure... a million pics! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADISON!!!

Ok ok, technically her birthday was yesterday but I was busy so she gets blogged about today!! :) We havent celebrated her birthday yet. We are going to do that tomorrow. I cant believe that my baby is 1! She has been walking for two month, has two teeth and is working on two more teeth. She is such a mama's girl. She loves to be cuddled and rarely laughs out loud. She talks with her hands, plays well with Kelcy and is generally content! She sleeps through the night, LOVES pasta and anything with apples. I think she's brilliant! :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADISON! MOMMY LOVES YOU!

My two cents

Ok I dont often get involved in politics. In fact I hate politics. HATE THEM. With a passion. I think our whole election process should be revamped and there shouldnt be parties. Democrat, republican, independent. Who cares as long they are going to do a good job. I hate election years. I hate the ads tearing down the other candidate, I hate the celebrities that endorse specific politicians, I hate the constant debate over who is going to win, I hate the insane amount of money that these politicians waste on advertising and fundraising. Seriously do you KNOW how much food that money could buy? How many vaccinations for kids? How many new textbooks for classrooms? Or if you want to really stretch it how much lower the national debt could be? As a middle class American I find it completely disgusting that the only people that I have to choose to vote for President of our country are people who are so rich that they could literally afford to feed thousands of American families every year and yet they spend their time and money writing books like "The Audacity of Hope"(thats a whole other tangent for me) or criticizing the very people they expect to vote for them. In short,While I think it is important to vote (although I believe the "every vote counts" Saying is BS depending on the state you live in), I will NOT be voting in this years presidential election. There isn't a candidate that I think will do any kind of decent job and when the next Trainwreck of a president takes the office and screws something up I dont want to say yeah thats the guy I voted for.
Please keep in mind this is my personal blog and I really really dont care if you agree with me or not. All opinions are welcome and this is mine! :)

Just for fun

Blog Slacker

Thats right. I'm saying it. I have been being a blog slacker lately. I dont even have a good excuse really other than I'm waiting for something to blog about. But then I dont blog about anything and my blog becomes unloved and boring. So today, boys and girls, I'm going to tell you about the fantastic new addition to our boardgame family.

NIGHTMARE

Sounds fun right? HAHA Tracy told me about this game probably like 8 years ago and I didnt believe him at first but he finally bought it on Ebay. We played it with his sister on Saturday night. Its basically a board game that has a video tape with it.

The video tape is the Gatekeeper and he keeps the time and tells you what to do. He calls you maggot a lot. Its hilarious. And the dude never blinks! But he gets scarier and scarier looking as the game progresses. So the point of the game is to get six keys and get to the center of the board before the game is over. If you dont make it there by the time the Gatekeeper says its over then he wins. You hop around from headstone to headstone and some of them will say things like If you are number 3 take a key. or Time, or Chance or whatever. The time cards are hilarious. They say stuff like at 00:00 stare at an opponent until you unnerve them. Or During this point count random numbers out loud or whatever. I got one that said at 59:00 scream loudly and whoever you scare gets banished to the black hole. Well I knew that that was 1 minute til the end of the game so I figured I'd better make it worth it! So at 59:00 I screamed really loud and Alesha just about fell out of her chair. It was so funny I couldnt stop laughing and missed the rest of my turns. The Gatekeeper won because couldnt get it together enough to stop and play. It was fantastic. I want to buy the other versions now. It has several different editions now including several on DVD.
