Congratulations

I just wanted to do a quick post to say CONGRATULATIONS to Julia and Dustin who are Engaged and getting married on March 12th!! He proposed last night and you can read all about it on her blog.

These two were seriously made for each other! I remember Julia telling me about their first date to a Jazz game. They compliment each other in every way a good couple should and I know they will be very happy together!

P.S. Jules I'll even forgive you for texting me at 2 am to tell me the good news and waking me up! :D Love ya!

Christmas Time

All in all I'd say Christmas was pretty good. On Christmas eve we let Kelcy open her christmas jammies and one toy. She asked speciffically for Dora the Explorer jammies so I gave her some. She was so excited to go to bed in her jammies that she brushed her teeth with her new Disney Princess toothbrush set and then ran straight to bed. She wouldnt even let me hug her before! She was like NO MOM I'VE GOTTA GO TO BED! She didnt wake up until 10 the next morning! It was sweet.





she loved all of her presents even though I really shouldn't have let her open the barbie first because she wasn't that interested in still opening after that. It was really funny having to coax her to keep opening presents. Madison naturally just sat in her swing and smiled at everything we showed her. She got one of those baby play mats with the gym on top. She loves it so far. And they both got tons of cute clothes. They got spoiled by Tracy's parents and my Grandparents and family.
These pics are from my family christmas party on Christmas eve before the camera battery went dead. We only got two pictures! One of my aunt Joy and Kelcy delivering presents and One of my Uncle Ernie and My cousin Jesse who is on leave from the Navy. It was good to see him. My Cousin Dayna and her husband Jason moved to Florida earlier in the year and it just wasn't the same without them. We did prank call them however which was really funny. I hope they had a good Christmas in Florida!

Silly Girl

Kelcy talks in her sleep. Its so funny, especially when she falls asleep in the car and just starts talking about kitties, or daddy or Madison or whatever she is dreaming about at that moment. I just peeked in on her and she is sleeping, but giggling like crazy. I have to wonder what she is dreaming about that is making her laugh out loud. I hope that this isn't something she grows out of. I think its charming!
She was so cute at Tracy's family Christmas party tonight. Taking people presents and unwrapping hers with so much enthusiasm. The biggest hit of the night was definitely her new kitty from Tracy's brother Brian and his girlfriend Randi. Its a littlest pet shop giant stuffed kitty and she HAD to sleep with it last night. Tracy's Mom got her a build a bear teddy bear in hopes of replacing the build a bear kitty she got her a while ago, but she had to sleep with that kitty too! The girl loves kitties!
Madison wasn't in a very good mood for most of the party. I think its because she sleeps so well at night now (9-10 hours!! To bad mommy still has insomnia!!) that she just gets hungry so quickly in the day and I just cant keep up with how often she likes to eat.
Tonight is my family Christmas party (the moms side) and I just cant tell you how excited I am to spend several hours with my mom and my sister. (Sense the sarcasm please!) Especially since we don't have our family pictures yet, which is what I was planning on giving my grandparents and my sister for christmas so now I have to go shopping, LAST MINUTE CHRISTMAS EVE SHOPPING, that I really cant afford to get presents so we dont show up empty handed. SUCKS. It especially sucks that our photographer was aware of my plans to give them as presents and said that they'd be ready last week. I understand that these things take time, and I'm not unreasonable. I just like to be kept in the loop. Anyways. Enough negativity for me and back to being optimistic.

Annoyed

Bugged, Bothered, Angry, Bitter, Upset, Short tempered... I think you see where I'm going with this. I love Christmas normally, but this year I'm just done with it. Nothing is going the way it was supposed to, EVERYTHING is going wrong and I just want it to be January already. I'm so ready for the new year. I'm excited for Tracy to go into the army. I think the 9-12 weeks he'll be gone for basic training will be good for us and our relationship.
I feel like I'm at a breaking point, with my family, with my friends, with life in general I guess. I feel big changes coming and I dont know if they are good or bad changes right now. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Sorry for being so bitter. Just one of those days where nothing goes right and no one cares about me.

Sleepy

So I'm insomnia girl once again. Went to bed at 1, woke up at 4 and decided since I was up I might as well wrap all of our Christmas presents. We did most of our shopping last night. Got all of Kelcys Christmas wrapped up and ready to go! Its a good thing she doesnt know that Santa is supposed to use different paper yet. LMAO. She just unwrapped one and brought it to me. She is so silly! She knew exactly what it was just by the shape. I only think this is so hilarious because I'm half asleep! She told me I cant wrap it back up because its for halloween and not Christmas. I guess I should go get her some breakfast and make sure she didnt unwrap anything else!

Christmas Party

Yesterday was a busy day for us. We had family pictures taken in the morning, which meant getting up early and then we had my family christmas party, on my dad's side. The pictures were fun for me, but not so much for Kelcy. I dont know what I was thinking having Sarah take her single pics first. I should have done the family pictures first! The whole point of the pictures was to get new family pics but Sarah assured me we did get some. Kelcy was so cute and smiley for her individual pics and then she was just done. We were able to get some cute ones of her and Tracy a little later and I think we got some cute ones of me and Tracy and me and Madison but I think since we got up really a lot earlier than we usually get Kelcy up that she was just tired and grumpy. I'm excited to see how they turn out!
After pictures we came home for a quick nap and then it was off to the Kimball party. It was fun, good food and lots of family I havent seen in a while. I dressed Kelcy and Madison in their santa dresses and everyone was asking me where I got them. Surprisingly they were a gift from my mother. They looked adorable and everyone had to hold Madison. I forgot to take my camera to the party and I"m so sad because for the first time ever we had a karaoke machine! It was a really awesome one and my uncle Brent is a natural show off so he was having a great time singing christmas songs and whatever else caught his fancy. All of my little cousins were hilarious singing jingle bells, batman smells. They'd get that far then burst into giggles. Seeing my Aunt Anne sing Love shack was great too! I was content to sit in my chair and sing along rather than go up in front of everyone but I might have done it if we hadn't run out of wipes in the diaper bag. We got home at about 8:30 and everyone but Tracy was asleep by 10 which is crazy for us. The only reason tracy didnt come to bed was he set a goal of February 1st for enlisting and has been working out hard to make that goal so he stayed up to work out.
Madison has been sleeping through the night for over a week now. I mean a full 8 hours, sometimes even a little longer, but I cant sleep through the night now. I wake up after about 3 hours and then can't fall back asleep. I managed to sleep for a whole 4 and a half hours last night before waking up. I dont know what is wrong with me! I'm so sleepy all the time but I cant sleep!

Saw one of these vases on a commercial once and completely fell in love with it. At the time they were selling for like $200 bucks or so on Ebay but now they are down to $20 So I might splurge and actually get them.

They would match so nicely with this!

I love Jonathan Adler! I also love Kate Spade!! If I ever win the lottery I'm going to track down every piece of her Gramercy Park bedding in Pink.

I get so emotional baby!

Tracy finally told his mom about the army. He was so stressed out about telling her that she was the last to know. He kept delaying and delaying and kept saying I just dont want to disappoint her, and I dont want to be a cause of grief for her. He finally caved to pressure because his cousin found out and told his aunt and he didnt want his mom to hear it from her sister rather than him. So he wrote her an email (most of which you can read on his blog. it totally made me cry) He was so nervous about it and she wrote back today and said that she is so proud of him and she is going to miss us so much but that she understands his decision and it sounds like a good plan. It made me cry too! Honestly. Sitting here reading both emails over and over just torn between happy that he finally told and the harsh reality that its happening. I'm excited. This makes it so real. I'm sure she's going to have lots of questions on Sunday when we go over... Hopefully she's not mad at me for keeping this secret for 5 months, but it was Tracy's secret to tell. The countdown is offically on!

This is what I woke up to today...

At 7 AM this morning I get a text from my sister in law asking if we were ok. Now im a little confused by that because why wouldnt I be ok? SO i go yeah why? and she replies because theres a swat team at your apartment, its on the news. Well right now we dont have cable or an antenna so I jump online and find this..


A police standoff ended with the suspect's arrest this morning at a Midvale apartment complex.

A man police say has a violent criminal history was holed up inside an apartment near 7200 South and 300 West.

Officers and SWAT negotiated with the man and talked him into surrendering just before 8 a.m. They say he had barricaded himself inside a stranger's apartment following a traffic stop around 3 a.m.

Police say during that traffic stop, there was a scuffle and officers tased the man. He ran off, and police tracked him to the apartment.

The person living in the apartment was able to get out safely.

Robert Giles, who was evacuated because of the standoff, says SWAT officers woke him up. "I heard some pounding on my door, so I went to answer it. I looked up, and it was the SWAT team. They told me I had to get out," he said.

Police say the suspect was not armed.

They say they may know why he ran from police when they stopped his car. Sgt. Marcello Repelo said, "We did find some drug paraphernalia. We suspect that he was either in possession of some narcotics or something further, maybe a weapon or something."

The man faces charges of aggravated assault on a police officer and attempted kidnapping.

I couldnt see anything from my apartment windows but Tracy said he was way late to work this morning because there were Cops and Swat team members in our stairwell with battering rams and then the parking lot was all blocked off so he couldn't leave. I was talking to Tracy in gmail about it when he finally got there and I told him I thought I heard a gunshot. It was a flashbang that the Swat Team threw at the apartment trying to get the guy in there to come out or respond to their negotiations. They threw several and it was really loud. We didnt get evacuated but still this is NOT the kind of thing I want to wake up to ever ever again.

Insomniac

Its almost 5 AM and here I am, awake again. Madison is finally back on a normal sleeping schedule but can I sleep now? Of course not. Every once in a while I get horrible insomnia where I'm just awake for hours and hours and no matter how hard I try I cant fall back asleep. I think Kelcy has inherited this problem because I can hear her playing in her room. I know she wakes up in the middle of the night and plays with toys for a few hours before finally drifting back to sleep. She's done it for about a year now. I keep hoping that she'll outgrow it but as long as she's content to play quietly in her room it doesnt really bother me. Madison is starting to stir and I must admit to being grateful that she'll give me a reason to be awake. You'd think that sitting here in bed, listening to the rhythmic breathing of two sleeping people would be enough to lull me back to sleep but no. Even my repeated yawning cant make my brain shut down for a few hours. I keep thinking about things that cause me to stress over nothing. Like Tracy joining the army. Totally his idea but I cant help feeling like I'm pressuring him. Its not that I want my husband to be gone for months and months and possibly be in life threatening danger, because I dont. I dont do well alone. And I'm completely paranoid so I know that I wont sleep much when he's gone. Even now, just thinking about him being gone is enough to bring tears to my eyes and make my throat ache with the strain of trying not to cry. But at the same time his decision to join seems like such a blessing. Its a solution to most of our problems and neither one of us has every had second thoughts about it. That says a lot. When you make a decision and it just seems so right that you know you have to make it happen and follow through. There is a guy at his work that is planning on enlisting at the same time as Tracy. I'm hoping they sign up together because then at least he'd know someone in basic training. This guy is slightly insane though because he wants to do straight up infantry. I, at least, have the comfort of knowing Tracy has chosen a non combat position. Also he found out that if he does get accepted to the nuclear medicine program that when he is finished he'll have a masters degree in radiology. A masters degree in two years. That is crazy to think about. And the job opportunities that will be avaliable to him when his enlistment is up is just insae. He is thinking he wants to do the airborne school and the ranger school now. RANGER SCHOOL. That is insane! He wants to do it strictly for the bragging rights but its also an incredible leadership opportunity that will look amazing on his resume. Its hard to think about how much our lives are going to change over the next 4 years. *Yawn* Naturally I'm starting to get sleepy right when Madison is waking up and Tracy has to wake up for work now. Figures. :)

Twilight movie

Ok first of all if you havent read the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, Do it now... RIGHT NOW before you even finish my post. I think every girl in the world is in love with Edward Cullen and with good reason. I'm rather fond of him myself but only because he is sweet and romantic and sooo in love with Bella. Who doesnt want to be loved that much? hmmmm. Anyway! They are turning Twilight into a movie which I'm rather anxious to see. They've cast Kristen Stewart for Bella, I dont necessarily agree with this since I thought she was a boy in the previews for panic room, but to be fair I've never actually seen her act. I want to know who they are going to cast for everyone else but right now there are just rumors. On a funny side note, Edward Cullen has a myspace and its really entertaining. You should all check it out cause it made me laugh! Actually aparently all of the Characters from Twilight have a myspace now. HAHA.
I'm actually making Tracy read Twilight, I hope he gets some romantic ideas.(HAHAH ok I just fell over that was really funny. I'm so funny sometimes.)
Speaking of Vampires, I've been borrowing Jaci's Buffy the Vampire Slayer seasons. I'm currently on season 5 and I must say I'm hooked. We (Jaci and I) like to debate over who is hotter, Spike or Angel. Its pretty fun cause she's a big Angel fan and I like Spike. I think its the accent that puts him over the top because, fake though it may be, lets face it guys with accents are HOT!
well thats enough about Vampires for tonight. Back to watching Buffy!

payday? no way

So Tracy is supposed to get paid every Tuesday, well actually its Monday but since we elected for direct deposit it goes in on Tuesday. We've never had a problem with getting the check into our account until today. His company insists they deposited it and our bank is insisting they dont have it, not even as pending. I'm super stressing about it because rent is due by tomorrow. If we dont get that money in our account by tomorrow afternoon, not only is our rent going to be late but we need groceries and to do laundry. URGH. I hate living paycheck to paycheck. Everytime we get a savings account built up something happens that drains it and we are back to paycheck to paycheck. The army is going to change all of this but we are still a few months away from that and we need to have a good $2500 in the bank in order for Tracy to leave for 9 weeks and still be able to pay all of our bills. The army pays about 6-8 weeks behind for the first check so his first check will be a very nice one but we need to have money to get us through until then. I know we'll make it work no matter what but the sooner he can get in the army the better off we'll be. I cant believe how fast time is going by. I am measurin time by paydays and getting one every week makes it go that much faster. We are getting our updated family pictures taken on the 15th by my brilliant photographer friend/ex-coworker Sarah. I am so excited for them! My girls have the cutest dresses so now Tracy and I just need to find somethings that match. Their dresses are black and white so I need to find something cute that is black and white and somewhat formal. If anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it!

Terrible Two's

I know that Kelcy is closer to 3 than to 2 but I think she's full on in the terrible 2's now. The tiniest thing will make her throw a tantrum or burst into tears. She doesnt mind at all and in fact will often do the opposite of what you ask her to and then when you discipline her for it she does it again as soon as she's out of time out. I know that she's just testing her boundaries and learning but its so frustrating. I'm trying very hard to be understanding and patient but its very hard when the thing you get mad at her for doing is potentially harmful to herself or Madison, or both of them at the same time! She is refusing to go to bed, to potty, to get dressed, to eat, to brush her teeth.. I could go on, but then when you finally give up because she's having such a fit, she then throws a fit to DO whatever you wanted her to do in the first place! Like tonight I told her she needed to get jammies so she could go to bed and she immediately starts screaming. I tell her to grab a dry bum while I get her jammies and she screams about that. So I finally change her and she starts screaming no jammies no jammies! So I go ok fine you can just sleep in your clothes to which she responds, I NEED JAMMIES! I NEED JAMMIES!!! Then there was a fit about the jammies that I grabbed. Even now when she's been in bed for a while I can still hear her bursting into tears about every ten minutes or so.
Anyway! Onto the good stuff and no more whining for me! I find Kelcy sleeping in the most random places. I'll have to do a post just on places I've found her in her room, for instance, IN the dirty clothes basket, UNDER her bed, IN her closet, Behind the door.. you get the picture. well this morning I found her like this:

I know she's in her bed, but she's SIDEWAYS in her bed, with about 8 blankets, she's using her Kitty as a pillow and she has on her grass skirt from her swimsuit.
She was cute earlier tonight and I was able to get a couple of cute shots of her and me.
